Louder Lashes Cosmetics

When my friend Teresa Jack reached out and told me she was launching a gender neutral lash brand, I was ecstatic. I couldn’t wait to get to work in creating the best “Gen-Z” imagery possible for the brand. Over the next week or two we through together creative direction for both a product and an editorial shoot. Each Lash had a different identity, colors and feel so it was a bit intimidating at first because we wanted to make the brand seem united, but I’m in love with how the imagery turned out!

For this shoot I purchased the Moment Cinebloom 20% Diffusion LensFilter I had been eye-ing for awhile now. Its also available at a 10 and 5% diffusion, but unless I was shooting strictly lowlight, I would stick to the 20% personally. I had it on my 100mm Macro the whole shoot and you can really see the filter shine in the low light situations. What I noticed is it really increases the focus fall off, while keeping things sharp. It also adds a nice softness while maintaining the integrity of the photo. Really the best of both worlds.

The few photos that are featured here with a real deep haze are with both the Cinebloom attached and cellophane in front of the lense.

For the editorial part of the shoot I brought my Instax camera just for fun, I think some went out in the first boxes sold!

I also shot tethered to Capture one for the whole shoot to my mac which was so helpful for everyone on the creative team to see the results, and to be able to make adjustments in real time. If you aren’t on the shooting tethered train, hop aboard and save a ton of editing time later.
